District Convention

Six of our members, John and Randi McLaughlin, Wes Thew, Greg Crosman, Leo Conoscente, and Cheryl Bruton attended the District midyear convention for the Southwest and Rocky Mountain Districts. It was held at Sunset Station in Henderson, Nevada.  There were approximately 40 people there including two past National Presidents and the current National President and First Lady, Rob and Rita Davidson.

This was an exciting time of exchanging information and receiving training in several areas designed to improve the local clubs.  Of particular interest to our members is that the SW District Board voted for a $5.00 a quarter increase in dues beginning with the next fiscal year.

Welcome New Member

We'd like to welcome our latest new member:  Paul Taylor of RSC Rental, specializing in equipment sales and rental.  His wife is Krisha and he was sponsored by Joel Vergel De Dios.  Welcome Paul!

When you see Paul at a meeting, introduce yourself and get to know him.

Upcoming Speakers

I'd like to personally recommend the program from Faithworks.  This is an inter-denominational organization headquartered here in Flagstaff but with members throughout the state.  They work together to improve living conditions for orphans in a number of areas including Africa, Mexico, the Navajo Reservation and Russia.

The speakers on February 13th will be showing pictures and talking about their work at an orphanage in Moscow.  Sunday's Arizona Daily Sun featured an article written by Luke Reynolds about the latest trip last September.  My daughter, Amber is part of that team, along with many others.  Abused children are a global problem and I can assure you that you'll find their presentation interesting.  Seven of the orphans that they have been working with will be visiting Flagstaff in March.

February 27th is our annual Officers of the Year Award Banquet.  I have no further information about it but assume you will receive an email with further info prior to the Banquet.  It is important that we have as many members attend as possible to recognize the police officers and fireman who place their lives on the line for us.

Plans are underway for the Z Exchange in May.  Be thinking of potential donors for prizes.
