Upcoming Speakers
Our new website is up and running. Check it out at flagstaffexchangeclub.com . I would appreciate your looking at it and making any suggestions for additions, deletions, improvements, changes, or whatever. If any of you have photos of past events, particularly our service projects, I'd love to have them to add to the site. If someone, who has been with the club longer than I have and has a knowledge of its history, would be willing to write a history, I would like to add a "History" page. Old photos from events since the beginning of our Chapter would make a nice addition to that page. I don't know how to create a password-protected area of the website and personally I doubt if anyone would even use it. Since there has been a comment made about posting the contact information for our members on the site, I am hesitant to add a membership list with contact info. I would like to add a "Member Profile" page which would include the name of each member and a brief bio of one to two paragraphs about each member. If you wish to include a link to your website, this would be an ideal place to put it. I can't write your bio--only you can provide that information. You can send it to me at shopcreativegifts@yahoo.com and I will add them as I receive them. I'd love to also include a photo of each member if they provide it to me. Unless you submit the info to me, only your name will be listed. I have built the website but have not optimized it for the search engines yet. I'll be doing that in the next week or so. A link to your business website can provide an ideal one-way link for the search engines which will increase the optimization of your own website. Personal Trials and Triumphs This is the area of our newsletter where I feature anything that I know or that one of you sends to me about our members. If anyone is sick, hurt, or has received recognition in your business or personal life, this is the place to let our members know about it. Ann Heitland has earned the EcoBroker Certified designation, having successfully completed a training program on the energy and environmental issues that affect real estate transactions. She is the only Flagstaff real estate agent so far to complete the educational requirements for this designation. Ann, who already has a lot of other certifications in the Real Estate Community, heads up Team Heitland with Remax Peak Properties here in Flagstaff. Her website is www.BestFlagstaffHomes.com Howard Hansen had hip surgery a few weeks ago. He's a hard man to hold down. I understand he has been getting around with crutches. We wish you a speedy complete recovery, Howard. Joyce Reid served on the faculty of the National Gift Basket Convention in Orlando earlier this month. She taught a class in "Building a Successful e-commerce website business." She also was awarded the designation of "Master Designer", the top design award in the US for the gift basket industry. She also won "Best of Show for Corporate Gift Design." Her company Creative Gifts to Go was awarded "Top 50 Gift Basket Companies in America" for the third year in a row. In addition to operating her nationwide gift business, Joyce is a staff writer for Rave Reviews, the national trade publication for the industry. OK, folks, what is happening to the rest of you? Send me your news, your trials and your triumphs, and we'll include them in the next newsletter. If you take photos at any of our meetings or events or would just like to contribute an article to the newsletter or website, send them to me at shopcreativegifts@yahoo.com
